How it works

1

Apply

Fill out a short application. We ask for your name, company name, and a one-line description of what you're building.

2

Get Confirmed

We'll confirm your spot a week before the event. 6–10 founders pitch per night.

3

Pitch Live

Three minutes on stage. One question from the judges, one from the audience. No slides required.

4

Win or Learn

Judges pick a winner. Everyone gets real feedback. Winner takes home a non-dilutive microgrant — no equity, no strings.

What judges look for

  • Business PotentialCould this realistically become a real, growing business?
  • ClarityDo we understand the problem and solution after 3 minutes?
  • ImpactDoes solving this actually matter to someone?
  • ConvictionDoes this founder believe in what they're building?

FAQ

Does my startup need to be incorporated?

No. You can pitch at any stage — idea, prototype, or early revenue. We care about the problem and your conviction, not your incorporation status.

Do I need slides?

Slides are optional. Many of the best pitches have been done with nothing but a microphone. Focus on clarity and story.

What does the $500 microgrant cover?

It's cash, no strings attached. Use it however it helps your company — a software subscription, a customer interview trip, or your first batch of inventory.

Can I pitch if I've pitched before?

Yes. Founders are welcome to return with a new or updated idea.

Where are events held?

Events rotate around Calgary. Location is confirmed on Eventbrite when registration opens.
